Don’t Feed The Wildlife Ordinance Enacted (Santa Cruz County)

MAY 17, 2022
Santa Cruz County, AZ – On April 6, 2022 an ordinance to limit human and wildlife encounters was approved by the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors.
Ordinance No. 2022-01 was enacted In an effort to reduce the risk of rabies virus, physical harm, and injury to domestic animals and wildlife.

Enforcement
The public may report incidents to the Santa Cruz County Animal Care and Control at
520-375-7860.

A. First offense: The violator is provided information about the ordinance and the risks to public safety associated with feeding wildlife and given a verbal warning.
B. Second offense and subsequent offenses: The violator is issued a citation for violating this section of the Santa Cruz County, Arizona ordinance.
