Sign-ups underway for summer art for kids in Tubac

Tubac Center of the Arts has begun registering participants in its annual Summer Arts Program for youth ages 6 to 13.

“The Summer Arts program has provided art-based activities in a safe environment for local youth for more than 20 years,” TCA said in a news release.

The program will run Tuesday through Thursday, from June 7 to 30. Two sessions are available: 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Students can register for one, two, three or all four weeks of the program.

The cost is $50 per week; scholarships are also available. Registration forms and scholarship applications are available at tubacarts.org/summer-arts.

For questions and assistance with registration, contact Sarah Vickery at (520) 398-2371.

In addition, TCA is looking for teen assistants 16 or older to work in the program. Teen assistants will be paired with a teaching artist, whom they will assist during class. They’ll also help with check-in, set-up, and check-out.

“This is a great opportunity to learn leadership skills and teach young kids to create art,” TCA said. The application is also available at tubacarts.org/summer-arts/.
