Green Valley, Arizona

The recorded history of Green Valley, located in Arizona’s Santa Cruz Valley, began in 1 A.D. The Hohokam, Pima and Tohono O’dham Indian tribes were the first to call this area home. The flags of Mexico, Spain, the Confederacy, the State of Arizona & the United State of America have all flown here. Spanish warriors, ranchers, missionaries, desperados & prospectors also lived here in earlier times.*

Green Valley is twenty miles (32 km) south of Tucson and 40 miles (64 km) north of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Surrounded by copper mines, and near the cycling, hiking and birding areas of the Santa Rita Mountains, Green Valley is an unincorporated retirement community composed of several Homeowner Associations.

The neighboring town just north of Green Valley is Sahuarita. Be sure to check out our page for more information.
